Trip to Cambodia
This is a journal about my trip to Cambodia. It will be long but I hope you guys enjoy reading this journal.
On the first day I was very sleepy. I had a long sleep, but the plane arrived at dawn so I slept very late. But it did not damage my journey. I slept fourteen hours that day!
The second day was the start of the journey. I was with two kids, Chehyeon and Minseo. They are in fourth grade. The schedule started after noon, so we three went to the hotel swimming pool. The swimming pool was a little dirty, so it was hard to adapt. But soon, we got along with each other. First we just swam and made some splashes. The best thing was meeting Sam from Scotland. She was in ninth grade and she was really kind to us, and played with us, and chatted with us. It felt great to be a translator and also happy to meet a great friend. We spent much time with Sam and her parents, Susan and Tom.
The first scheduled activity of the trip was going to Phsar Leu Market. It was similar to my hometown’s market. But it was very creepy to walk next to the Buddhist supplies market. The world money market was very interesting. I wonder what those markets do.
Next was the Angkor National Museum. I think I was the only one that saw the whole museum. The Buddhist statues were mixed with Hindu statues. It was interesting. But why? I got a horrifying feeling seeing those statues.
And then our team went to the Cambodia Folk Village. We three and Chehyeon’s dad watched Cambodian dances and took many photos and ate roasted beef.
It was a beautiful day, and I will write about the third day tomorrow.
