    •    Having a little brother is harder than anyone can imagine, especially if one have a little brother like Fudge....'Tales of Fourth Grade Nothing' is written by Judy Blume. This story is about Peter and his naughty little brother named Farley, but everyone calls him Fudge. Fudge causes a lot of trouble to his family, but other people thinks he is a cute little boy. In this book, there can be many themes, but the important there are these: Animals as plot tools, bad behavior of spoiled children, and lastly, siblings jealousy.

The first theme is animals as plot tools. In the middle of the story, Peter entertains Fudge's friends with his pet turtle, Dribble. And once, Fudge pretends to be a bird, and broke his two front teeth and got many scratches by jumping off a ride. And another time, Fudge's father-takes Peter and Fudge to the movie theater to watch a movie about 'Bear's life'. In this case, the movie makers are actually using bears to make movie; and to earn money. At the final chapter, Fudge eats his brothers turtle! There was a similar case of this in real life-a turtle who ate 915 coins and died. But, the difference is that this time, the turtle was eaten, not ate something him self! Also, the 'Bear's life' movie-which Fudge watches with his brother and father-is similar to a movie named 'Winter's Tail'. That movie is also about an animal's life.

The second theme is bad behavior of spoiled children. There are four children who are spoiled in this story. That is Fudge, Ralph, Jennie, and Sam. They are absolutely a spoiled children. Ralph is too greedy and wants everything. Jennie bites people and pees on the floor. Sam wails if thing don't go around as he wants and he is scared of everything. Fudge is...very bad. He ruins his brothers poster, eats his turtle, smash mashed potatoes on the wall of a restaurant, draws on his brothers new shoes, etc. There are many of these kinds in the world-spoiled children. Their common features are that they couldn't control themselves. They just do as they please and don't care about other people. This spoiled children usually comes from bad parents. The parents do everything their child wants. This kinds of actions makes the kids think that doing what they want is not bad. For instance, Ralph's parents buys him what he wants. So Ralph gets fat, and then greedy because his parents would buy him everything. But this is bad because this only makes Ralph sadder. Ralph gets what he wants, but he is never happy because he is never satisfied. He buys A, and he soon wants B. He buys B and he wants C. This goes on and on, so he could never be happy.

The last theme is siblings jealousy. Peter thinks his mother likes Fudge more than him. And, he thinks his mother never cared about him. But really, his mother did cared about him. But, Peter doesn't knows that. That is jealousy. Thinking that the person he cares, cares someone else and gets a negative feeling. Peter feels that when his mother told him to play with Fudge in his birthday party. Peter tries hard to play with them. And the Juicy-Os! Mrs. Juicy-O gives Fudge lots of presents, but she only gives Peter a snobby ABC book what Fudge needs!

In conclusion, the best theme of this theme essay is 'siblings jealousy' because, it described the two important characters, Peter and Fudge. Animals as plot tools is important because so many stories' main plots is related to animals. Also, bad behavior of spoiled children is important because Fudge is very spoiled and so is his friends.
