A note to Everyone: For your information, this [Music Stories] is made from [Sports Stories], which is one of the Little Fox's stories. Enjoy this story!

Melissa sat on her piano chair, with her fingers on the piano. Her family-her mother, father, aunt, granfather, granmother, and her each 10 and 7 years old cousins were sitting around her, surrounding the piano.

"Melissa, you can start," said Melissa's mother.

Melissa loved playing the piano. At least she had loved playing when she was young. And she did now, too. But more little than a few years ago. Her mother had put her in to a piano competition. She had made her practice, and she did now too. She wanted Melissa to get the gold-award. Melissa didn't care about it very much on her first years of practice. She didn't have so much practice. However, as time passed, the songs became harder, and her fingers seemed to stiffen.

Now, Melissa's competition was only a few days away, and her mother wanted Melissa to play the song infront of Melissa's family.

     "Melissa? Melissa!" said Melissa's mom.

"Huh?" said Melissa, who was in daze. "Oh, yes, right."

She gulped a swallow of breath and started. Suddenly, her mind went blank, and stopped for a second, and started playing again. Unfortunately, she noticed she had pressed the wrong tile. Oops! she thought, glancing over at her mother, who was frowning. Melissa started again, but she missed the beat. She stopped, and was to start again-

"Okay, Melissa, I get it," her mother said holding up a hand to stop Melissa. "You're probably just a little tired because of your night-practicing yesterday. Or, you might have caught a cold. Now, go up and rest. You have to be good in the competition."

Melissa just nodded, trying not to meet anyone of her family's eyes.

What a shame, she thought, now everyone will think I'm a really bad piano player! And I'll get in trouble with mother!

She strode into her room as fast as she could, followed by her mother.

"Melissa, what's wrong, dear?" she asked as she sat down on Melissa's bed, beside Melissa.

"Oh, nothing, mother, nothing. I-I'm just in a kind of bad mood, that's it," Melissa said in a hoarse voice. "Maybe I do have a cold?"

"No, something's wrong, Melissa," said Melissa's mother, "and you don't know what it is, probably. Look, you want to be the best piano player, don't you?"

Melissa didn't really want to be, after today, but nodded anyway.

"Then you must practice until you're perfect, and face your nervuos mind! You should Shake them off! The competiton is only a week-no, only 3 days away, and something's wrong with you! Melissa, you really should get the gold-award. Have you got it?"

     "Y-yes, mother," squeaked Melissa.

After her mother had left, Melissa lay down on the bed, and listened her family go.

Why do I want to be a piano player? she asked herself. Is it because I really love playing piano, or just because mother wants me to be? Oh, it's hard. And am I happy now? Maybe, but I don't think so. But I do want to be a piano player..... Or do I really want to? Oh, I don't know!

Melissa put her face on the pillow and started to cry.
