  • Bright and early the next morning, quite a few people enjoyed the cool morning air except for one. Agnes, even when she was awoke, struggled the oversleep because the day was the car wash day. No one could deny that Agnes was lazy, even Agnes herself. In fact, perhaps the one who's not embarrassed for her eternal laziness was Agnes herself. She wasn't planning on getting up that day. But as much as she wish, no one person can 'hibernate'. So Agnes tried to spend much time on 'unimportant' things like finding a candy for a snack and warning Johnny and Eva not to touch anything while she were gone. But as she start walking, there was the killer:

From the beginning of the walk, there laid a murderous sun, keep trying to fry Agnes. After a few while, Agnes arrived at the meeting spot in an almost toasted state. Sally didn't seemed to care how much mineral was coming out of her body, though. As soon as the boys arrived, she put everyone to work. Agnes sprayed water, scrubbed cars, them sprayed water again all afternoon. It seemed to be about two' o clock in the afternoon. Agnes felt a slight water on her face, but thought it was just a water from car washing. After five minutes, though, she obviously knew it wasn't that. Rain started to pour down, soaking them from head to toes. The kids ran in all different directions to their homes. When Agnes stepped into the house, dripping wet, Mrs. Sullivan cried, "Oh my! You little thing, what were you doing out there in that nasty weather?"

"Just some stuff." Agnes quickly replied. "Agnes! Can I take your watch?" Eva called out, popping a potato chip into her mouth. "Yo, never. Why do you ask me that?" Agnes said. Somehow, Eva looked pretty suspicious. "What did you do, you little pest." she asked in a rather annoyed tone. Eva, without a bit of hesitation, said:

"I sold it and donated the earned money to an orphanage."

Agnes wasn't very stunned because this kind of thing happened quite often in her opinion. Eva took whatever she wanted, and then asked the owner-likely to be her-that she can take it after she did something with it. Agnes was recalling some of the annoying moments losing her values. But Mrs. Sullivan ambushed her and before she could even react, she was dragged to the bathroom.

It rained for a quite many days. Agnes, as anyone couldn't play outside. By the fourth day of indoor staying, she was aching to check the clubhouse to see if there was any damage. The other reason she wanted to escape was that she was stuck with her siblings for four days. Four days! This was Agnes' top record because she never stayed with her sibling more than eleven hours per day, including sleep and mealtimes. Agnes was restless. When the rain finally stopped after six days it had started, everything outdoors were wet and ground was muddy. Puddled were all around and Agnes found Eva's third favorite doll lying helplessly in a mud pit in their backyard. But even the strong rainstorm like this couldn't stop Sally. She dragged Agnes and the boys to help her with her yard sale. Agnes had a progress of selling two books and one sketchbook full of Sally's well drawings.

Exhausted that day, Agnes overslept the next day, when Sally planned for bake sale. The basket full of goodies Agnes made the other day was getting cold and hard. Agnes was still fast asleep.
