  •   The guests whispered and wavered while sir Lorance Grant sat with his arms folded, enjoying the attention he was getting.

"Mr. Grant?" Davis asked. "Oh, I mean, sir Lorance Grant, what do you mean by 'In here is Raina Pello'?"

A mysterious smile appeared in sir Lorance Grant's face. "I mean that, in here, is Raina Pello."

Davis scratched his head. "So who is Raina Pello, and how could she be here? I thought she was in jail. Did she escape?"

Sir Lorance Grant rolled his eyes. "Of course she's not in jail! The stupid old woman just put an innocent maid in jail, while the real Raina Pello got away! If she hadn't rushed things, we would've caught her, and put her to jail for real."

Davis turned to the camera. "Did all of you hear it? I, Winston, heard it right, okay. The mighty theif is loose right now, and according to sir Lorance Grant, all thanks to Mrs. Jefferson, the wife of a passed away Millionaire, Mr. Jefferson."

      ***

While Mrs. Jefferson was being blamed for letting Raina Pello go, Mrs. Jefferson herself was drinking a cup of hot cocoa while cursing Raina Pello for stealing her valuables-all the things that had jewels on them, with some of Mrs. Jefferson's expansive rings.

"That wicked sly theif! I would throw her to jail once I get my hands over her, and torture her until she confesses where she hid my valuables!" Mrs. Jefferson muttered threateningly.

      Then she called out, "Ellan!"

A maid came rushing over. Ellan was slighty small for her age, actually, really small, but she worked well, and Mrs. Jefferson couldn't find another person better than Ellan in the place of Lucy. Nobody agreed to be Mrs. Jefferson's back-and-call after the theft of Raina Pello.

"Why, ma'am?" she asked in her strange France accent. "I am always at your service."

"Bring me some more coco." Mrs. Jefferson ordered.

      The maid rushed away.

Mrs. Jefferson stared at the maid. Something about that maid was peculiar...but that didn't mean much to Mrs. Jefferson anyway. She walked slowly toward the radio at near the front window, and clicked it to her favorite channel; The Wonders About Raina Pello. She sat down and closed her eyes.

'Good,' she thought. She was just in time for the start of the program.

"Mr. Grant?" she softly muttered. The voice of sir Lorance Grant was floating out of the radio. "Why did they invite him instead of me? It could've been my opportunity to alert the whole world about Raina Pello..."

She was disturbed by a knock at the door.

      "Come in," Mrs. Jefferson said.

Ellan walked in and handed Mrs. Jeffeson her cocoa. Then she left the room.

Mrs. Jefferson sipped her cocoa as she returned to listening to the radio. She had missed some parts while getting her cocoa, but the show was still on, and that was enough. Mrs. Jefferson sat back in her chair and listened with her eyes closed.

    ***

Sir Lorance Grant stared ahead, bored, as Davis went on, making it unclear if he was talking to the crowd, or to the camera standing infront of him.

"Who is that man, sir Lorance Grant?" Violet whispered to Jason.

Jason moved an inch away from her. "Um...I think we shouldn't talk. Or else we might be suspected as Raina Pello."

"Smart thinking, young boy," A woman in sunglasses said from behind the two children.

Violet looked at the woman's chest for a name tag, but the name tag wasn't there.

"What are you looking at, young girl?" the woman snapped. "It is rude to stare."

A piercing scream filled the building.

Violet trembled as she crawled away from the woman. "She's Raina Pello!" Violet screeched. "Help! I've been robbed by Raina Pello!"

Sir Lorance Grant stood up, and pulled out a pistol from his upper pocket. "Show your hands and don't move!" he commanded.

The woman held her hands up, rolling her eyes. "Put that pistol away!" she commanded back.

"By the authority of whom?" Sir Lorance Grant demanded. "Don't you run away this time, Raina Pello. I'll make sure you rot in that new jail we made for you."

"By the authority of me." A voice said.

Sir Lorance Grant instantly fell to his knees. "President Luna," he said.

"Stand up, old general," the president said, "and please put your pistol away. That woman isn't Raina Pello, she's my secretary. I was just wondering how you would capture Raina Pello, and my, how I was surprised when you believed every word that girl said, not even stopping a second to think, and point that pistol at my own secretary." She nodded at Violet.

"But..." Sir Lorance Grant started, but stopped when he saw president Luna wasn't finished yet.

"And my, how could you be so foolish to not capture Raina Pello when the arcane theif herself is standing just next to you."

All eyes went to one particular man. Davis looked around. "Why is everyone looking at me?" he demanded.

"You, John Davis Canal is Raina Pello!" the president declared.

    ***

Mrs. Jefferson gasped, along with several other gasps from the radio.

"I must call the president at once! She'll explain this nonsence," she muttered as she stood up.

In her rush, she accidentally spilled the hot cocoa on her dress, which is worth millions. She growned. "Ellan!" she called.

The maid didn't respond, so she called again, this time, slightly annoyed. "Ellan Opira! Where are you!"

The maid hurried in. "Why, ma'am?" she asked. "I'm at your service."

"Clean up this mess and fatch me a clean dress." Mrs. Jefferson said.

"The one with the diamonds or the one with the rubies?" Ellan asked.

"The one with the diamonds," Mrs. Jefferson said.

"Yes ma'am." Ellan said, hurriedly heading toward the door. "Do you need anything else?"

"Oh, yes. Fatch my phone too, so I could call the president. It'd probably be near my dressing drawer. Be careful with it because it's really expansive. You might have to work your entire life at this mention if you break that phone." Mrs. Jefferson threw up her head and laughed like it was the funniest joke she had ever heard, but Ellan didn't laugh. She looked puzzled, like she hadn't got Mrs. Jefferson's joke.

Mrs. Jefferson coughed, looking embarrased. Then she said in a loud voice, "Nevermind. Just fatch my dress and my phone."

      Ellan nodded and hurried off.
