[The Red Door]

It's been about three months since Ellis Markins started living in the tower. During that time Ellis had followed the rules in the tower quite well.
One day, Ellis was walking in the hallway late at night after finishing her school homework in the tower's study. It was just then. She accidentally dropped her pencil case onto the stairs near the hall. The stairs were so dark that Ellis could not see how far the pencil case had rolled down.
"Oh my! "
Ellis exclaimed in astonishment. The only light coming into the corridor was the moonlight coming through the window, and nothing else. So Ellis was a little scared to go down the stairs and find the pencil case.
"What should I do?"
She went up and down the hall and said,
And finally, she decided to go down the stairs.
Ellis took a deep breath, then slowly walked down the dark stairs. Like this, when she broke the tower's rules by stepping on the 13th step of the staircase...
She felt the whole tower shake.
"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh"
Ellis shouted. At the sound, Jade, Steve, and Brian rushed quickly to her side. They panicked when they realized Ellis had stepped on the 13th compartment of the stairs. Ellis closed her eyes tightly.
A moment later, the tower stopped shaking, and she opened her eyes again.
"Where am I...?"
The familiar interior of the old tower was gone, and some huge red door was in front of her. Other than that, there were only red lights everywhere.
"Miss, are you all right?"
Someone asked, and Alice turned around her head.
Jade, Steve, and Brian were also nearby her.
"Miss, are you all right?"
Jade asked again, with concerned face. But Brian's ex-pression was so dark that he seemed to be angry.
"Ellis, you...!"
Brian said. His eyes were shining with rage.
"You! You broke the rule of this tower... You stepped on the 13th column of stairs."
Ellis was startled, and soon put on a guilty look.
"Sorry... the pencil case fell down the stairs..."
"I told you not to roam the halls at dark nights! You've broken two rules of this tower. First, walking around the hall at night. Second, stepping on the 13th step of the stairs."
Brian kept saying. The more he spoke, the darker his face grew.
"Sir, calm down."
Steve said. Brian glared at him.
"You want me to calm down? Well, this idiot made another nuisance!"
Brian also glared at Ellis. And sighed.
"Hey, you. What are you going to do now?"
Brian looked and asked at Ellis with a calmer look.
"Wha- what?"
Ellis said with a puzzled look on her face. Brian rolled his eyes.
"Of course I'm asking what you're going to do when that door opens."
"Well... what kind of door is that?"
Ellis asked, too.
"That's the door that separates the underworld and the earth, you idiot!"
Brian replied, He seemed to be angry again.
Jade and Steve nodded, and Ellis looked very shocked.
"What...? The door that separates the underworld from the earth?"
At first she thought Brian was joking. But he had a very serious look on his face.
It was just then, that some ghosts appeared from somewhere, and started to head toward the red door. When Alice was in a state of shock at the sight of the ghosts, the red door slowly began to open...
"Oh, my. The door's open."
Brian murmured.
