  • "Hello, everyone!Today I will introduce the flag or South Korea. This flag is called
the Taegeukgi. In center of the taegeukgi there is a circle, and it has two colors,
blue and red. It had changed shape and colors over the years, but its meaning
is always same. It represents eum-yang, which is comes from a very old oriental
philosophy. The blue represents eum, its negative, dark, cold, night, dead, and
woman. The red part represents yang, which is positive, bright, hot, morning,
life, and man. Together they make a balance of world, and harmony.

    And
there is a story about this circle! `Before space was made, there were two
giants. One was a red giant and he was very hot that when he touches anything
it would burn or turn to ashes. And another was a blue giant. Not like red
giant, everything she touches would freeze right there. One day, they met then
started fighting each other. Where their hands met there was a space then
planets and one of the planets is an earth. And inside of the earth was a life.
Life created living things. Starting with animals, plants and they made their
own babes. And life made on special thing `human’. Soon life was too tired to
take care of all living things. Then suddenly dearth came. They got married and
death killed things so life can rest little. So where ever life go’s death came
    too.

If you ask me “what happened to giants?” well
they got tired and rested for a moment. When they tried to move, they couldn’t.
because they were too mixed that they couldn’t move. Then they are cooled down
and that shape became the circle.

There are bars on the flag. Together their called
the geon, gon, gam, li. The bar on the top-left one is called geon, and means east,
sky, spring; the bar on the top-right one is called gam, and means north, moon,
winter, water; the bar on the bottom-left one is called li, and means south,
sun, fire, fall; and the bar on the bottom-right one is called gon, which means
    west, earth (ground), and summer.

Most importantly, the Taegeukgi isn’t a
flag of war, but one that stands for peace. Even the white background represents
    peace and purity.

I'll see you next time! Goooooooooooooooooood bye!
