 Little men, after 5 years #Daisy goes to baking school

Jo and Laurie were having tea and talking beside the fireplace. "Oh, Daisy, come!" Daisy sat in a sofa between Jo and uncle Laurie. 

"So, now you're 17, right? You have to decide your future." Laurie began. "I know you want to be a baker. But as you know, Jo and Mr. Bauer have many kids in charge. They cannot give you that much support." Daisy's head hung down. She glanced at her aunt and uncle's face. To her surprise, they were smiling. "But," Jo announced, "Uncle Laurie decided to send you to a baking school!" Daisy's eyes widened. "A-a baking school??" She stuttered. "Yes! He's going to support you till you become a professional baker." Jo exclaimed joyfully. "Isn't that fantastic, Daisy?" Instead of crying with joy, Daisy was still hanging her head down. "I-I don't know...Isn't that expensive?" Laurie chuckled. "You don't have to worry about the money, young lady. You're going to pay us back by becoming a great baker, right?" Daisy's face brightened. She nodded 'yes'. Her mind was whirling with excitement. She couldn't stand it longer. She want to share her excitement with her friends. "Umm...I-I gotta go now...Thank you very much!" She busted out of her seat. Laurie and Jo chuckled as they watch Daisy's figure drifting away. "So," Jo's voice went serious. "What about the other kids?"

Meanwhile, Daisy was surrounded by boy and girls. They were celebrating her sincerely as if this was their affair. Everyone was purring out a word of blessing to Daisy. "Daisy, I'm sure you'll be a great cook!" "You'll do great." "I'll miss you." They hugged each other warmly. 

Bess burst into tears. "Daisy...I'll miss you so much..." They embraced tightly. Daisy's eyes were red with tears. "Um...where's Nan?" Indeed, Nan was out of sight. "She was with us until a while ago..." Jack commented. "Where is she?" The kids searched everywhere and found Nan lying down on her bed. "Nan!" They stormed in. Daisy and Dan instantly realized that something's wrong. "Nan, why are you so down? Are you sad that Daisy is going?" Bess asked. Nan didn't said anything. She just stared at them with her mouth shut. Just then, Jo and Laurie entered the room. "Well hi there ladies and gentlemen," said Laurie, playfully. "I was about to announce that Daisy is going away for baking. But since you already know that, it's nighty-night time!" He cheerfully yawned. Daisy and Nan lay down with their night gown. "Nan, is there you want to talk about?" Daisy asked softly. "No" said Nan. "Nothing. Really nothing. Congrats for entering baking school" "Have a nighty-night, Nan" Daisy squeezed her friend's hand. 3 weeks passed after the announcement. Daisy was packing things to bring to the school. Everyone was helping Daisy pack her things. "Daisy, be sure to arrive by 5 o' clock, don't lose your things always carry..." "It's okay Aunt Jo. I am all grown up~I can handle it myself." "Daisy..." Jo looked at her with kind looks. "Uncle Laurie will take you to the station. Take care~" "Take care~" Everyone repeated. Daisy waved her hand elatedly. 

Although she wasn't so brimming on confidence in the inside. That day, Dan saw Nan sit still with dropping head in the branch.

He looked at the sky turning red then fixed his eyes on Nan again. He decided to climb the tree.
