Chapter Thirteen
Teddy and Victoire
"Teddy. Teddy. TEDDY!"
Harry was trying to wake up his sleeping godson. Christmas had arrived, and Harry had invited Edward Lupin to live with them. It was James who gave him the idea.
"Five more minutes," said Teddy groggily.
"Wake up, Teddy Lupin!"
"I don't want to," murmured Teddy. He rolled over and fall into sleep again, snoring loudly.
"Harry, come quickly!" Ginny's voice ringed from the kitchen.
"Comin'," said Harry. He muttered "Sonorus," and he yelled, "EDWARD REMUS LUPIN, YOU WAKE UP RIGHT THIS INSTANT!"
"Go without me," Teddy mumbled.
"Then you'll miss Victoire," said Harry slyly, grinning. It was James who spread the news that Teddy was going out Victoire Weasley, daughter of Bill's and Fleur's.
At this, he woke up suddenly. Harry burst out laughing; pulling someone's girlfriend to the conversation made the someone interested. Chortling, Harry left the room, leaving his godson to change.
"How're we getting there?" asked James to his father. "We can't Apparate, and we don't have a fireplace."
Molly and Arthur invited the Potters to be in the Burrow for Christmas. When James said "chimney", he meant about Floo powder.
"That," said Ginny, "is a great question. How're we getting there, exactly?"
"Um," said Harry thoughtfully, "I s'pose we could drive there...."
"No way!" Albus protested. "It takes nearly 4 hours!"
"Then you come up with an idea," snapped Harry. "I'm thinking about it, all right?"
"How 'bout Side-Along Apparition?" Teddy suggested.
All the kids shouted, "Yeah!"; it was their ambition to feel the sensation of Apparition.
"I don't know," said Harry, frowning slightly. "'Specially you, Lily, you're only 11. Your uncle Ron accidentally Splinched his arm off, and it was nasty...."
"Oh c'mon," whined Lily, "you had Side-Along Apparition when you were 16!"
"Sixteen's much more than eleven, young lady," Ginny said, counting the Christmas presents.
"Whatever," protested Lily, "pleaseeeee?"
"Oh, fine," said Harry. "Come along here." He held out his hand.
James and Lily looked excited, but Albus looked worried.
"What if I accidentally sliced my head off?"
"Don't be a crybaby, Al," said James playfully. "I'm in."
He placed his hand on the top of Harry's hand. Lily did the same.
"Are you coming or what?" said Teddy to Albus.
"Fine," muttered Albus, and he placed his hand to the pile just before his mother did.
"One ― two ― three ― go!"
They Apparated.
They reached at Ottery St. Catchpole; the place the Burrow was in.
"Wow, it's been a while since I've been in here," said Ginny, looking around.
"Argh, the presents're heavy," groaned James, holding at least 10 presents.
"Here," said Harry, pulling out his wand. "Wingardium Leviosa! " the presents float magically, making a shape that looked like a pile of dices with different colors.
Ginny rang the doorbell.
"Hi, Harry!" said Ron, who opened the door.
"Hi Ron," Harry retorted.
They went inside.
The Burrow was changed with Christmas colors: green and red. Coincidently, Teddy's hair was blonde today (Teddy inherited the Metamorphmagus gene from his mother), so it clashed perfectly. There were presents under the Christmas trees, and a banner saying, "HAPPY 2019 CHRISTMAS AND WELCOME 2020!".
"Yeesh, the present's epic," commented James, looking at various boxes filled with presents.
"And the food," Albus piped up, staring like a wolf to the enormous Christmas turkey.
They all sang "Joy to the Lord" and they started to wolf down their lunch. It was delicious; it could have got three stars in the Michelin Guide, a Muggle-made guide which gave restaurants stars.
"Mmm, it's delicious!" commented Rose loudly, wolfing down her Christmas pudding.
Suddenly there was a loud bang, and a flowery bonnet erupted from Percy's Christmas cracker. Everybody burst out laughing; uncannily, the bonnet and Percy somehow matched.
"Wear it, Perce!" shouted George, waving his wand. At instant, Percy was forced to wear the flowery bonnet magically. Ron and Charlie choked with laughter.
After Harry finished, he went to the attic, wanting to see the familiar Ron's bed and the Chudley Cannons poster. What he did find was Teddy and Victoire, who were half-concealed in Ron's bed and were kissing as though they had been glued.
"Eh... hi," said Teddy nervously to his godfather, whose face was about to explode.
Just then, Victoire's younger sister and brother, Dominique and Louis, opened the door. They caught sight of their uncle laughing, and they too burst out laughing. Before Victoire or Teddy could stop them, Louis yelled his head off, "EVERYONE!!! COME AND LOOK AT THIS! TEDDY AND VICTOIRE ARE DATING TOGETHER! I JUST SAW 'EM!"
