These days, we can buy chocolate whenever we want. However, chocolate was extremely
rare. Long ago native Americans found cocoa. And they noticed that it is delicious when they mix the cocoa with other ingredients and water. The cocoa drink was delicious but the cocoa tree
grew slowly and got sick very often. So, the price of cocoa was very high. 100 cocoa beans was equal to
a slave. An explorer named Hernan Cortes brought cocoas to Europe. Only kings and rich people
was able to eat. Later, a factory from England made a hard chocolate and it became very
popular. Nowadays, lots of people enjoy the sweet taste of chocolate.
