Chapter 14: Going to Daisy’s Garden
“You do?” Sophia asked the black horse. “How?”
“We shall go to Layla’s garden.”
“Layla? Who’s Layla?”
“She’s a British Speaker whose family has a long tradition for having magical gardens. Layla herself has a magical garden, and there is a flower there that makes people forget things that we want.”
“Wait, what’s Layla’s Speaker name?”
“Daisy! I know her!” Sophia cried in amazement as she recognized the woman’s name.
“You do?” Peachy asked.
“Yes! I saw her the day of my Speaker naming ceremony! She was one of the Speakers!”
“So what are we waiting for? Climb up on me!” Misty said.
Sophia and Peachy obeyed, climbing hastily on Misty.
“Now let’s go!”
Misty ran across the cement-covered floor. The wind rustled past Sophia’s hair as Misty raced faster and faster.
“How long does it take to go to Daisy’s garden?” Sophia asked. “It’ll not take us to Britain, does it?”
“Yes. But don’t worry, there’s a way to go there in a second.” Misty said. It stopped in front of a bush and neighed four times.
“Is it you Misty?” A voice called out, and a ginger-colored she-cat emerged from the bush.
“Yes, Penelope!” Misty neighed. “We’re trying to go to Layla’s garden.”
“Layla? The Speaker?” Penelope asked, and Misty nodded. “Okay.” She disappeared again into the bush. After a few seconds, she arrived with three, purple hats. There was a label inside the hat that said ‘To Layla’s Garden’
“Put that hat on your head, and read the label out loud.” Penelope gave the orders. “And then you all would be in Layla’s garden in a second!”
“Good. Thanks, Penelope.” Misty said.
“No problem,” Penelope said, and disappeared through the same bush.
Sophia gazed in awe at the place where the she-cat had just been. But she quickly recovered and put the hat on top of her head. The other two did the same. Then they all said, “To Layla’s garden.”
Sophia was off her feet as soon as she said the words. Yellow and red swirls filled around her. Very soon enough, her feet felt ground and landed silently on a grassy-covered area. Peachy and Misty soon appeared beside her.
“Ugh. I never get used to this transportation. It’s so dizzy!” Misty said, swaying on her spot.
“You'll probably get used to it in a year!” Peachy joked.
“Peachy, it’s no time for jokes. We need to get this flower.” Sophia told it.
“Why? We’ve got plenty of time! We just need to get the flower! And everything will be fine!” Peachy said.
“No. We need to be quick.” Misty interrupted. “The more we are late, the more flower and energy we have to use to erase their memories! Let’s go!”
Peachy nodded, and they raced into Daisy’s garden, which stood right in front of them.
