Quidditch All Together #4, Talk with McGonagall

Cedric recognized Stacey as she stepped forward.

"Stacey!" he cried.

"Who is she?" Davies, Johnson, and Montague asked at the same time.

"Our chaser." Cedric replied.

"I can tell McGonagall about um... your plan. I heard everything you said and I understood all of them." Stacey said, and when no one say anything she added. "I really want to do the quidditch match too. I won't spoil it. Please, you can trust me. Besides, there is no one to tell McGonagall anyway."

"Well then... all right." Johnson said. "You tell McGonagall for us."

"Why do you decide?" Montague shouted loudly at Johnson. "I don't like it! We don't know whether she is good at talking to people or not!"

Davies rolled his eyes. "Then who will go to McGonagall? Will you tell her?"

"I...no...but..."

"Then it's all settled!" Cedric said sharply at Montague. Then he looked at Stacey. "When will you tell McGonagall?"

Stacey took a glance at the teacher's table and saw McGonagall standing up. "Um... I think it will be hard to tell her right now. But I'll tell her before tomorrow. I will tell you the result later, Cedric." she said.

Later that evening, Stacey was walking down the corridor when she saw professor McGonagall passing by. She ran to catch her.

"Professor McGonagall!" Stacey shouted.

Professor McGonagall stopped and turned. "What's the problem, Scarlet?" she asked.

"Um... it's not exactly a problem. But anyway, I have something to tell you."

"And what is it?" McGonagall asked.

Stacey took a deep breath, crossed the fingers behind her back, and began talking. "Well, professor McGonagall, there is no quidditch match this year but we players want to do it very  much. So the four house's captains, gathered and discussed about it. And we wondered whether we can do the match with each other and I was selected to ask you about it."

Professor McGonagall frowned. "I though professor Dumbledore had made himself clear that quidditch match will not be held this year because of the triwizard tournament. We teachers are busy enough so it will be difficult to do the game, Ms. Scarlet. And both Mr. Potter and Mr. Diggory won't be able to attend even if we do the match. Please tell those captains that..."

"Sorry, but professor." Stacey interrupted. "We thought like that too. And we know that playing the whole quidditch match will be hard. So we made some kind of a plan, professor..." she paused.

But professor said nothing, so she just continued. "So... that plan is... well, since it is obvious that you will say no if we tell you that we are doing all that six game, we decided to play  only once. I mean, Griffindor and Slytherin will each choose on house between Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff. And then two house will be one team and play. Then we only have to do one game. But since it is impossible to play quidditch with fourteen people, we will choose seven, no eight among them."

"Eight players?"

"Uh...yes. We had no choice. You see, if we divide the players fairly."

"How exactly are you going to play?" she asked.

"Well, as for the chaser, two players from each house will play." Stacey replied at once."And as for beaters, one from each house will go out. Seeker will be from one of the house and beater will be the one from the other. All house can play quidditch that way."

Professor McGonagall raised her eyebrows, thinking. "I understand what you mean... but..."

"It is just for fun." Stacey said quickly. "There won't have to be quidditch cup. And since it is just one game, we thought it won't bother the teachers that much. Please, professor? We really want to do it. Harry and Cedric both said that they will be okay ad besides... It will be a good event for Beuxbatons and Dumstrang students to enjoy."

Professor McGonagall smiled slightly. "I will talk with Dumbledore." When she saw Stacey's face brightened, she added. "I didn't say okay yet. But I can't deny that it is quite a good idea. I love seeing quidditch myself... Anyway, I'll tell you what professor Dumbledore thinks about this matter later."

"Thanks professor!" Stacey shouted. She got some ho[e at the fact that professor didn't refuse instantly. She thanked her few times again and headed for her dormitory with a big smile on her face.
