Today, I have a good news! I am selected for 5th Grade Female Vice President! Next year, I'm turning twelve, 5th grade. In my school, since 5th grade, we can enter the School Presidential Election. 5th grade can only enter Vice President, but 6th graders can also enter Student President. And, I entered it! I wanted to enter at next semester, but my mom said there will be too many people participating at second semester, so I participated at first semester.
I started to prepare since last Thursday, and I quickly wrote down my pledge, and handed it in the next Friday. It was due to right next day, so I was really busy. At last Friday, I went to school after the school finished to get my number. And guess what I figured out! There was 10 people including me, that will be participating! I was shocked. I've never seen too many at once, which means that it will be hard to get selected. Anyway, the number was chosen randomly, and I chose number 1. I really didn't wanted number 1 because I would feel pressured. However, I chose number 1, and that's it.
During weekend, I made poster, and picket for the election campaign, with my family. It was very hard work, and required a whole day to do it. The living room was messed up because of making it, and I had a hard time cleaning it...;;
At Monday and Tuesday, I had an election campaign. Due to COVID-19, we didn't shouted nor gave snacks. We just stood at the school gate with our picket. It was very cold, but somehow, it was fun. After school, I practiced on my presentation. I practiced it again and again, until I was perfectly able to give a nice presentation.
Today, was the Election Day. After the campaign, we headed for the broadcasting room for the speech. I waited until my turn, and when it was my turn, I walked toward the desk, and spoke my pledges and other things. I was really nervous. A huge camera was in front of me, and few other teachers were watching me. But luckily, I finished my presentation well.
After that, I had a vote time. The teacher at the election said we must vote on ourselves because it can decide the result. And I did what she told me. I voted for myself, and voted for other people. Teacher said the result will come out after two hours.
I thought I would never be chosen because all the students were good, and I did just normal, not good or bad. I just hoped to have a good experience. Guess what?! My teacher told me that I was selected! My class cheered and shouted. I was very surprising to hear my name. I WAS SELECTED!!
I think I will be kind of busy preparing a Thank-You-Speech for selecting, and run for the vice president. But, I also think that it would be very fun. I am really waiting for next grade, since I get to run for it. Don't you think so? If you are also participating for it, I am all wishing them ''GOOD LUCK''. No one knows. Maybe you will be selected like me! HAVE COURAGE!
