This story is about the gift of the Magi. Della and Jim were poor. They had only 1 dollar 87 which they earned through working in a grocer and butcher. Della sold her hair to buy Jim's Christmas present. And Jim sold his watch to buy Della's Christmas present. They both sacrificed their greatest treasures for each other.
I didn't sacrifice for someone, but my parents currently sacrificing for me and my sister. They're still sacrificing themselves to make me study. My mom came to New Zealand for me and my sister, and my dad is staying alone in Korea.
