Mapleshade's Vengeance

-SPOILER ALLERT, JUST IN CASE

I read Warriors Novellas, Shadows of the Clans. It is a book that contains Mapleshade's Vengeance, Goosefeather's curse, and Ravenpaw's farewell. The story that I liked most is Mapleshade's Vengeance. I always have wondered who Mapleshade is, and how did she end up in the dark forest. This book told me why. It was because of love. 

Mapleshade fell in love with a RiverClan warrior named Appledusk. And had his kit, and kept it a secret, because everyone thought the kits were Birchface's. But ThunderClan figured it out, and told Mapleshade to leave with her three little kits. Mapleshade became furious. She went to RiverClan, but while crossing the river, her kits fell in the water. A RiverClan patrol came and saved them, but they were already dead. Mapleshade told Appledusk that they were thrown out of ThunderClan when they reached RiverClan camp, but Appledusk said that it was her fault and that he never wanted to see her again. He had a new mate, and Mapleshade left RiverClan territory. The next day, Mapleshade met an apprentice called Nettlepaw. She told Mapleshade that Mapleshade's friend, Frecklewish was watching the kits drown, but didn't do anything. After Nettlepaw ran off to her patrol, Mapleshade decided to avenge her kit's death. She killed Ravenwing, the ThunderClan medicine cat, then Frecklewish and Appledusk. Her kits went safely to StarClan, but Mapleshade got injured badly, and died. She came to the place of no stars, a place that she truly belongs.

After reading this book, I feel pity for Mapleshade. How furious and heartbroken would she have been after Appledust betrayed her. She must have been felt helpless. How many troubles that has come because of forbidden love in the clans. At the Power of three, because of Leafpool and Crowfeather I felt like I never wanted to read warriors again. It is no wonder Mapleshade entered the dark forest. If no one had made her so heartbroken and bloodthirsty, she would have stayed a great warrior of ThunderClan. But Mapleshade must be paid for what she has done too. I wish she had ended in StarClan instead. I wish the forbidden love in warriors stops one day. I read more then I can bear.
