: First Lessons

"Sorry, Ms.Danielle!" Minji cried as the girls entered the training room.

They were quite late, Haerin thought it was mostly because of the boy(who? Jihoon or something?)

Haerin didn't want to think about him.

"That's okay. Well, you will have already heard about the element and special ability," Ms.Danielle said, "now that you're here, you've got to check your magic abilities.

"How do we check your skills?" Haerin asked.

"Drink these first," Ms.Danielle said, handing the girls each a bottle filled with a bluish but clear liquid, "those potions will make it more easier, since you're first time in using magic."

The girls drank the potions. It felt weird. 

It was quite slimy and tasted sweet.

After drinking it, Haerin couldn't feel the difference at first.

"Now, touch these and close your eyes," Ms.Danielle continued as she gave a strange looking stone, "concentrate hard and try to pull your hands without taking your hands off of it. Then, try to do it as if you're breathing in your air to the stone."

The directions seemed hard, but the girls were doing it somehow.

All of a sudden, Haerin felt really cool and light.

"Don't open you're eyes yet." Ms.Danielle said as Haerin was about to open her eyes.

Haerin tried not to open her eyes, but she concentrated on the illusion she could see.

She was floating on the excessively clear, blue ocean.

She could see dolphins surrounding her.

It was a nice background for an illusion! Haerin thought.

"Open your eyes, now."

Haerin opened her eyes, surprised to see herself in a dark room.

Haerin looked around. She could see Minji beside her doing the same thing.

"Don't worry, I just made this room private with my magic." Ms.Danielle said.

"Oh,"

What a relief.

The Witch Town was still amazing to Haerin.

"Who's Haerin?" Ms.Danielle asked.

"It's me." Haerin said, raising her hands slightly.

"You're quite special... Your magic element is Water. That means you can manage ice, too. You will have probably seen something related to water in your illusions," Ms.Danielle said.

'That's right!'

Since Haerin saw big clear ocean and dolphins, Haerin thought it was right.

"Also, your secret ability is kind of a mirroring. It's good for both defense and attack."

'Wow.'

Haerin thought both her element and special ability was nice.

"Then you're perhaps Minji, right?" Ms.Danielle said, turning to Minji.

"Yes, it's me." Minji replied.

"You're element is air, and you might have saw something related to air in your ilusions. Your secret ability is to read others mind!" Ms.Danielle told her.

"I think our skills are nice." Minji said.

"Of course, you're skills are very special," Ms.Danielle said, "also, about the secret ability, you can use it once a day."

After a short explaination from Ms.Danielle, the girls moved to training ground to use their magic in earnest.

'It was a tiring, long day...'

The day went slowly to Haerin.

When the girls returned to their room after everything was over, Haerin felt tired.

The girls decided to go to bed early.

Haerin went to sleep as if she will never wake up.

However, she woke up just after few hours.

Haerin tried to go back to sleep again, but for over 30 minutes she couldn't fall asleep again.

"If you want to see me, see you back here tomorrow midnight."

Haerin suddenly remembered the word Jihoon said last night.

'...Why am I thinking about that now...'

Haerin turned around and tried hard again to go back to sleep.

Eventually, she failed, and check the time. It was midnight.

Haerin hesitated for while, then stood up.

'I don't know...'

She got readied simply, then went out.

Haerin creeped towards the garden, just like last night.

Once Haerin was in front of the entrance, she hesitated again.

She could see Jihoon walking around the garden this time.

Indeed, Jihoon was quite handsome. Even though Haerin didn't wanted to acknowledge it, it was no doubt.

"Why do you hate Jihoon so much?"

Haerin remembered what Minji said that day.

Actually, Haerin didn't have an answer to this question.

She didn't know why, either.

She thought about it for a while, then made a conclude to this problem; Jihoon's personality is... almost... trash. Maybe?

'I don't know.'

Anyway, the problem now was; should she go inside or not.

Not knowing what to do, Haerin just stared at Jihoon quietly.

Just then, Haerin made an eye contact accidently with Jihoon.

Haerin felt her heard sank.

Now, there was no choice for Haerin but to go inside and have a conversation with Jihoon.

Haerin sighed quietly. Then, she stepped inside the garden, facing Jihoon.

"I knew you would come," Jihoon said, smiling(actually, sneering was the right modifier...)

Haerin couldn't tell if this Jihoon was the same person of last night.

But Haerin could tell that the smile Jihoon was making wasn't a pleasent smile.

She could the that it was kind of a sneer.

Suddenly feeling bad, Haerin raised one eyebrow and said,

"I've got to know who you are now."

after a short silent, Jihoon opened his mouth,

"...Okay. I'm Jihoon Lee. Student of Eve campus. A wizard. 17 years old.

And you?"

He asked again to Haerin.

"I'm Haerin Song. Like you, I'm student of Eve campus, 17 years old...," Haerin replied, "...And unlike you, I'm a witch."

Jihoon nodded.

Haerin sat down on a bench, feeling tired.

To her surprise, Jihoon came over to her and sat down next to her.

Although there was space between Haerin and Jihoon, Haerin felt weird.

For a moment, Haerin thought this place was like a fairytale at this moment.

The beautiful moonlight, beautiful garden.

"What's your element?" Haerin asked, in order to wash her thoughts away.

"Fire. And you?" Jihoon said.

"Mine's water. We're really different, even our elements are the opposite." Haerin said, laughing.

"I know." Jihoon said, taking off Haerin's headband.

"What are you..." Haerin said, raising one eyebrow.

Haerin thought she made a new habit because of Jihoon; raising one eyebrow.

"If you want it back, see you tomorrow here. I'll give you back then." Jihoon said, sneering.

Haerin was getting tired of this Jihoon's 'And you?' and sneering.

"Hey, that's mom's...!" Haerin cried.

But Jihoon was already gone.

Haerin was annoyed.

'So frustrating...!' She thought.

Haerin stood up, arranged her hair again, and went out.

When Haerin was back in her room, to her surprise, Minji was awake.

"Where have you been? Isn't it curfew now?" Minji asked.

"I just a... had something important." Haerin tried to equivocate.

However, Minji wasn't an easy opponent.

"I know something is going on. Please tell me." Minji said.

Haerin hesitated for a second.

Finally, she sighed and decided to tell Minji everything about the meeting with Jihoon in the garden.

After explaining everything, Minji looked surprised.

"I can't believe it," Minji began, "Jihoon who I know doesn't usually talk with other peopleㅡlet alone girls. Maybe there's something with you and Jihoon."

"Ah, don't say any awfull thing!" Haerin said, shaking.

"Anyway, can I come along with you tomorrow?" Minji asked.

"...Okay." Haerin said.

Knock, Knock-!

Just then, someone knocked hard on the door.

"The housemother teacher!" Minji whispered.

The girls hurrily went to bed, and pretended to sleep.

Once the footsteps were gone, Haerin got up from bed. So did Minji.

"Whew... I guess we were too noisy." Haerin said.

"Yeah... Let's be carefull tomorrow," Minji said, "you know, since we need to return your mother's headband."

That made Haerin think about Jihoon again.

Agh... What was his true colors? What was he doing with her headband?

"Let's go back to sleep, now... It's late." Haerin suggested.

Indeed, it was 2 A.M., late night.

"Okay, see you tomorrow." Minji said, lying back down.

The girls went to sleep quickly.

Haerin couldn't stop feeling worried.

 Hi, it's writter Sero again. Are you enjoying the novel? I used 50,000 today for New Jeans... I eventually became a fan of New Jeans. My favorie member is Haerin. Maybe that's why the main character of this novel is Haerin. I bought New Jeans' first album(Haerin version), and pre-ordered the new album! New Jeans will be back on January 2nd. By the time I upload this, New Jeans will have already came back and I would have already heard the new songs of them. But the date I wrote this is December 31th.
