    True Umbrella

On a cold, dreary and rainy day, a pauper-looking girl entered the store which was selling junks and other stuffs containing Umbrellas. When the store's front door crept open, the shopkeeper could see a beggar-looking girl. The girl wore few ragged fibers and looked as dreary as the day was. The shopkeeper didn't dare to ask the girl 'may I help you' because the girl looked as though she didn't even possess a single coin. To the shopkeeper's astonishment, it was the girl who spoke out. "May I please buy an Umbrella?" She asked. Reluctantly, the shopkeeper said. "We've got loads of Umbrellas. What sort are you exactly considering to buy?"The girl paused for a second. And then added. "I'd like to get an Umbrella which can cover me entirely."

'Surely she's talking about the biggest size Umbrella since she said she'd like it to cover her entire body.' The shopkeeper thought as he strode to the biggest ones. However, even before the shopkeeper could ask the girl whether or not she'd purchase one of the biggest umbrellas, the shabby girl said. "And I'd like it better when it's comforting."

'Comforting? Does that mean 'comfortable' and that she'd like to get an Umbrella made by cotton which are particularly soft and comfortable?' The shopkeeper wondered as he led his legs to those cotton-made umbrellas. "Now, would you mind to buy this biggest,cotton-made Umbrella?" The shopkeeper asked hoping that the girl would say yes by now.

"please wait.Would that Umbrella stand on my side?" Nevertheless the girl asked eagerly her eyes sparkling.

'What on earth is she talking about?Something that'd stand on her side? Does that mean the one which contains loops so that it would be possible for her to hang the umbrella around her?' Annoyed, the shopkeeper grumbled and thought as he trudged toward the Umbrellas with loops. "Now Here's the biggest, comfortable, contains-loops umbrella which suits all of the conditions you suggested." The shopkeeper said, frowning. For most certainly, this pauper-looking girl would at least pretend to reach in her little ragged pocket to bring out particular amount of money.

However, aloof from the shopkeeper's expects, the girl said rather merrily. "And now for the last, I would like to ask whether that Umbrella could 'love' me or not."

"The what?!" The shopkeeper who's face went red as an apple exclaimed. 'Surely she's insane! Which Umbrella would possibly 'love' one when the least thing Umbrellas possess are emotions?!' Now, the shopkeeper did NOT just bear the situation. He was not much patient person and even if he was one, the shopkeeper was most certainly sure that all the patient creatures on earth would not be able to to stand all these. "I am very sorry. But I must say that the biggest and comforting Umbrellas are available and that the Umbrella which may stand on one's side which could imply the ones with loops are rather possible. However, those ones which can 'love' one is most certainly NOT available!" The shopkeeper hollered. The shopkeeper kept mumbling things when he finally caught a glance of the pauper-looking girl's distressed face.

"Oh.How foolish I was..I..I thought this shop would contain true Umbrellas but..I was wrong,I guess.." The girl muttered under her heavy breath. "True Umbrellas?! What does that mean please?!" The shopkeeper dared to ask.

"That's all I said earlier..." The girl said coldly, her dreary ex-pressions growing clear every minute.

"Have a good day sir. I hope your reputations toward all the poor people would change someday."

With that, the pauper-looking girl trudged out the door where the heavy rain poured down. in the shopkeeper's eyes, every step the girl took through the rain without an Umbrella looked painful. And as the sight of the girl disappeared through the showering rain, the shopkeeper snorted and said. "So why didn't she buy an Umbrella which suits her financial affairs? She's a queer little brat!" And yet as the rain poured, the little girl kept walking to another store yet hoping to find a true Umbrella which would cover her, which would be comforting and which would stand on her side. And most of all, the one which would LOVE her.../////////

Why translate it only literally? Find all the hidden meanings in the story.

The rain=The bitterness of the world

The pauper-looking girl=The one who hungers for true lover.

The shopkeeper=The one who discriminates the poor people and the one who avoids to give them true loves.

Fake Umbrellas=fake deceiving ones who calls selves 'lovers'

True Umbrellas=The true lover who can cover the faults, the one who'd be comforting and the one who'd stand on one's side, and the one who'd give true LOVES.

The word 'rain' can be used as many emotional or poetic meanings. However I think considerably many people use this word 'rain' as something like 'sorrow' or 'tears'

And what is the thing that can cover one from the rain?

    It's an Umbrella.

    _The end_
