Hey, how is it going?
You know, today is memorial day. So I'm going to share my memorise of last year memorial day.
Last year in memorial day, I went to the National Cemetery.
I had to go there because of awards ceremony.
The awards ceremony was hosted by the former commander of the ship Cheonan because the event was held by him.
It was such a fun experience and it reminded me that ship Cheonan incident are not just in the past.
I watched short video at the ceremony but the one comment is still left in my heart.
In the video, one of the ship Cheonan survival soldier said,
"After I rescued, I looked my comrade but I can't find them anywheres. I couldn't believe that they were all dead.
The person who always withs me, it felt strange that they were always here, but they weren't here anymore. I just thought they'll come back later."
I was shocked when I heard that even in a situation the ship was sinking and the power was gone,
making it dark and filled with screams, but they still tried to save at least one more comrade.
They didn't prioritize their own safety.
Even in the face of death and hardship...
And... I met that survival soldier actually.
He was in the ceremony with the former of ship Cheonan commander.
He was a emcee at the ceremony. He said, he was really impressed by my art skills.
And he told me those other survival soldiers were amazed by my painting, too! I was so happy at that moments, I felt like I was flying in the sky.
Becaused I prayed that my painting would touch others' hearts. Actually it worked.
I never imagined about losing loved ones and didn't truly understand what the death is,
but I'm so grateful for them.
They fought together for the country, ate together, slept together, and all things together..
But who knews that would be their last time they were all together?
I'll never ever forget thier sacrifices and the tragic incident.
They were so brave, so noble, and possessed an iron will, and most importantly,
they were the proud Navy of Korea.🎇
