Today, I was watching my phone in my room. Then suddenly, I wondered when the school English listening assessment would start, because the second semester began a week ago.

So, I searched on the internet and found out that the English listening assessment will start on September 4th. (This is the exam date for the third year of middle school, so other grades will be different.)

Thanks to Little Fox, I'm good at listening. But I always get so nervous when the English listening assessment is coming soon.(I always worry so much...;;;) So I decided to practice!

I went to the EBS website and printed last year's 3rd year English listening test.
I took a deep breath, and began to practice.

I was doing well in the beginning. Well, of course, I've been watching Little Fox a lot! So it's normal that I’m doing well.

But in question 14, an unexpected problem broke out.

I was practicing in my room, but suddenly my younger brother, whose English name is Brian, was in the living room with my father. I thought he was bored, because suddenly he said to my father like this: "Father, please listen to my piano song!"
I gulped. "Brian, I'm practicing the English listening assessment!" I wanted to shout.

Unfortunately, my mother wasn't at home that time, and my father said, "Sure, I want to listen to your song!" even though he knew that I was practicing in my room!

So my brother start to play the music...

"Hey, stop that music right now!" I wanted to shout.

But unfortunately, the speaker was already reading the script of the question, and I couldn't stop because I wanted to practice like in the actual test.
Luckily, my brother only played one song, but I still couldn't focus.

Just then, the speaker said: "Also, yesterday, I summarized all the contents I’ve studied."
Suddenly, my head stopped. 'Oh dear, what does 'summarized' mean?' I thought in panic.

This word usually confuses me when I listen to Little Fox, but I know what it means. Still, that time, I couldn’t remember it because of my brother!

I gulped and shrugged. 'Well, summarized must be 'submit'! I must have heard the word wrong because of my brother!' I thought.(I couldn’t check the script because I was practicing listening.)

So, I decided that I had heard 'summarized' as 'submit'...;;; Of course, I got that problem wrong!

I even got everything else right! I usually get money-discount questions wrong, but this time they didn’t even give a discount, so I thought I could get a perfect score!

I was sad that I didn’t get a perfect score, but it was just practice. And I learned two important lessons.

First, I have to memorize 'summarize' perfectly.
Second, not everything will go as perfectly as I expect!

From now on, I have to practice listening even in noisy places...;;;
Well, I decided to do another practice tomorrow! I hope I do well in the real test, just like in the first semester’s listening assessment!
