I respect historical figures who devoted their lives to save the country, but I respect Ahn Jung guen most. There are three reasons that I respect him. First, he cut off his finger segment to write an oath. Cutting finger segment will bring lots of pain, and it is hard decision to cut it. Second, he knew that he would be killed if he kill Itō Hirobumi. Not everyone can decide to do something if its result is death. Third, he didn't lose his mind to devote to his country when he died. He was at prison after he killed Itō Hirobumi. He didn't beg for his life to survive. Furthermore, he didn't want only the peace for his country, he wanted peace for China, Japan, Korea.
