  • When I heard the news which we are going to do debate in English from my homeroom teacher , I was extremly exciting without actual feeling. I'm one of the member of high class. The high class is one of the activity "After school". My homeroom teacher specialized English so she would be the high class English teacher. All of us consulted what we debate for. Finally, the title is "Leave of live in Korea." It's about emigration. Many students talked each others' opinion like "I won't leave Korea!, I want to leave Korea." It was too noisy so teacher gave us some homework that examine some files we need.
I'm in the "Live in Korea" team. And we examined this files.

"Research institutes have found that seven out of every ten Koreans in their 20s and 30s are thinking of leaving their homeland because of the frozen job market and economic slowdown. But would they have better life like they dreamed?
Many Koreans believe that anywhere besides Korea would be the best place to live because they are not satisfied with the current situation. Home shopping companies have come up with the emigration package program and advertise only good points about the emigration and thay is making people believe utopia really exists. but many emigrants say the reality is totally different. Despite the prevalent education system the emigrated children can not get along well in school because of language problems, peer pressures and so on. Many emigrants are highly intellectuals with numerous experiences in their field. But unfortunately not many will get jobs relating to their experience.
Emigration is not, only a personal matter, but it also affects the nation in all. When they leave, the people left behind will have to take ovr their place by paying more taxes. Also when the working generaton leaves, who would support the Koreans industry, to survive in the competitive world?
Therefore as for the people and our country, emigration boom should be dissolved and we shoud try to make Korea the better place to live."

The emigration agree team insisted "Isn't there any positive effects at all?". So we answered "Of course there is pros and cons of emigration. You may think through TV or newspaper if you emigrate, you can live more comfortable than now. But who show on TV are only a few people in emigrants and very smart people. Almost emigrated children undergo many difficult problems and it isn't different for you. And your team said you just want to emigrate as education system and meet more foreigne friends. Have you every tried to change the system? I think you are just excapism. Do you think other country is enough good to study? and you can meet many friends on the internet. If you emigrate other country, you can meet only that nation people. I think it is also limited. Meeting on the internet is more wide. And if you want to meet directly, you can go there just the trip. why do you want to emigrate so much?" We insisted that.
but...... the real problem is our English speaking ability! All of us can speak very slow and stumble. Oh my god! We couldn't do debate in English anymore -_-;. Finally, we finished debate in Korean.
It's really Anseup.(안습 -_-;;) So we are going to do that once more tomorrow(Friday).
I will ready it really hard. I'm so worried about tomorrow's debate if we do it confusion.
    I hope it won't be.:-(
