"Did you have fun at the apple orchard on Saturday?" Nina asked Izzie. They were on their way to Kids Central.
"It was so fun!" Izzie said. "We picked all kinds of apples. Green, yellow, red . . . And we put them in cute wooden barrels."
"토요일에 과수원에서 즐거운 시간 보냈니?" 니나가 이지에게 물었다. 아이들은 키즈 센트럴로 가는 중이었다.

The girls walked into the gym. "Oh! Just like those!" Izzie pointed to a small barrel on the table. It was filled with apples.
"Welcome, girls," Miss Shelly said. "I went apple picking this weekend!"
여자아이들은 체육관으로 걸어 들어갔다. "아! 저거랑 똑같은 거였어!" 이지는 테이블 위에 놓인 작은 나무통을 가리켰다. 나무통에는 사과가 가득했다.
"얘들아, 어서 오너라." 셸리 선생님이 말했다. "난 이번 주말에 사과를 따러 갔었단다."
"Me too!" Izzie told their teacher.
"The apples are for our activity today," Miss Shelly said.
"Let me guess. Are we making applesauce?" Izzie asked.
Miss Shelly grinned and shook her head.

"Apple juice!" said Nina.
"We're making apple stamps to decorate lunch bags," explained Miss Shelly.
"How do you make an apple stamp?" asked Ethan.
"사과 주스요!" 니나가 말했다.
"우린 도시락 가방을 장식할 사과 도장을 만들 거란다." 선생님이 설명했다.
"사과 도장을 어떻게 만들죠?" 이던이 물었다.
"You cut an apple in half and dip it in paint," Miss Shelly explained. "Then you can use it just like a stamp. First we'll stamp the lunch bags. Then you can glue beads and buttons on them too.
"사과를 반으로 잘라서 물감에 살짝 담근단다." 셸리 선생님이 설명했다. "그런 다음에 도장처럼 똑같이 사용하면 돼. 우선 우리는 도시락 가방에 도장을 찍을 거야. 그다음에는 도시락 가방에 구슬이나 단추도 붙일 수 있어.
"First cut the apple in half. Then press the cut-side onto a paper towel to dry it off. Ethan, would you please pass the paper towels around?" Miss Shelly asked.
Izzie glanced at the jars of paint. "What colors are we using?"
"먼저 사과를 반으로 잘라. 그다음에 잘린 면을 키친타월에 눌러서 바싹 말려. 이던, 키친타월을 나눠 주겠니?"
이지는 물감이 들어 있는 병들을 흘긋 보았다. "무슨 색을 사용할 건가요?"
"We have all the basic colors," Miss Shelly said. "If you want to make more colors, just mix them! Ready to start?"
"I want to make the perfect green," Izzie thought.
"기본적인 색은 다 있단다." 셀리 선생님이 말했다. "색을 더 만들고 싶으면 그냥 물감을 섞어! 시작할 준비 됐니?"
"난 완벽한 초록색을 만들고 싶어." 이지는 생각했다.
Miss Shelly passed out paper plates for the paint. "Press your apple into the paint. Then press it firmly onto the fabric," she said. "Hold it down for a few seconds. You want to make sure the whole stamp stamps!"
셸리 선생님은 물감을 담을 종이 접시를 나누어 주었다. "사과를 물감에 대고 누르렴. 그다음에 천 위에 대고 세게 눌러." 선생님이 말했다. "몇 초 동안 누르고 있어. 꼭 도장 전체가 다 찍혀야 하니까!"
Izzie poured blue paint onto her plate. Then she added some yellow and mixed. Next she added a little white. Finally she was ready to paint. She dipped her apple in the paint and stamped.

She was pressing and pressing when her hand slipped! "Oh no!" she cried.
"Ha-ha! It looks like a shooting star," Ethan said.
"A shooting apple!" Bobby said.
이지는 누르고 또 누르다가 손이 미끄러졌다! "아 안 돼!" 이지가 외쳤다.
"하하! 별똥별 같아." 이던이 말했다.
"별똥 사과야!" 바비가 말했다.
"Miss Shelly, Izzie made a cool shooting apple!" Nina said.
"Well, I think it looks cool!" said Nina. "I'm going to make one too!"
"셸리 선생님, 이지가 멋진 별똥 사과를 만들었어요!" 니나가 말했다.
"멋져 보이지 않아." 이지는 불평했다. "바보 같아 보여!"
"음, 내 생각에는 멋진 것 같아!" 니나가 말했다. "나도 하나 만들 거야!"
"I think your apple stamp looks very artistic," said Miss Shelly.
"Thanks," Izzie said. "But I'm going to make a regular stamp now." She stamped her bag again. This time it was perfect. "Ta-da!" Izzie held up her bag with one shooting apple and one regular apple.
"선생님 생각에 네 사과 도장은 굉장히 예술적인 것 같아." 셸리 선생님이 말했다.
"고맙습니다." 이지는 말했다. "하지만 전 이제 보통 도장을 만들 거예요." 이지는 가방에 다시 도장을 찍었다. 이번에는 완벽했다. "짜잔!" 이지는 별똥 사과 하나와 보통 사과가 하나 있는 가방을 들어올렸다.
Next Izzie made a tiny stem and a leaf with beads. Then she wrote her name at the bottom of the bag. She wanted everyone to know this was her very artistic lunch bag.
다음으로 이지는 구슬로 조그만 줄기와 잎사귀를 만들었다. 그러고 나서 이지는 가방 맨 밑에 자기 이름을 적었다. 이지는 이 굉장히 예술적인 도시락 가방이 자기 것이라는 것을 모두가 알길 바랐다.
Later everyone sat on the rug munching apples.
"Ha! This apple is a funny shape," Jason cried.
"It's not a funny shape," Izzie said. She looked at Miss Shelly and smiled. "It's artistic."

Do it Yourself:

6) Add more stamps or decorate with beads, buttons, or markers!
