Puss bowed. "Greetings, Your Majesty."
The king gasped. "You talk!"
Servants began to whisper.
Puss shrugged. "It's no big deal."

신하들은 속닥거리기 시작했어요.

The king looked at Puss' boots.
"Excellent boots," he said. "Very fancy!"
"Thank you," Puss said.
"It's important to look neat."
왕은 푸스의 부츠를 보았어요.
"멋진 부츠로구나." 그가 말했어요. "아주 멋져!"
"감사합니다." 푸스가 말했어요.
"단정해 보이는 것은 중요하죠."
The king grinned. "I feel the same way!"
He walked over to Puss.
"You're a fine fellow.
How can I help you?"
왕은 활짝 미소 지었다. "나도 그렇게 생각한다!"
왕은 푸스에게로 걸어갔어요.
"자네는 썩 괜찮은 친구군.
내가 무얼 도와줄까?"
"I have a gift for you," Puss said.
He pulled the rabbit from the bag.
"It's from my master, the Duke of Carabas."
"폐하께 드릴 선물이 있습니다." 푸스가 말했어요.
그는 가방에서 토끼를 꺼냈어요.
"제 주인인 카라바스 공작님이 보내신 것입니다."
"Wonderful!" the king said.
"Tell the duke I said thank you."
"멋지구나!" 왕이 말했어요.
"공작에게 내가 고맙다 했다고 전해다오."
The next day Puss went to the forest.
He placed seeds in the bag.
Puss climbed up a tree and waited.
다음날 푸스는 숲으로 갔어요.
그는 가방 안에 씨앗을 놓았어요.
푸스는 나무를 타고 올라가 기다렸어요.
Two birds landed near the bag.
They pecked at the seeds.
Puss leaped from a branch.
He pounced on the birds and caught them!
새 두 마리가 가방 근처에 내려앉았어요.
새들은 씨앗을 쪼아댔어요.
푸스는 나뭇가지에서 펄쩍 뛰었어요.
그는 새들을 덮쳐서 잡았어요!
Puss returned to the castle with the birds.
He bowed. "A gift from the Duke of Carabas."
"Lovely!" the king said.
푸스는 새를 가지고 성으로 다시 갔어요.
그는 머리 숙려 인사했어요. "카라바스 공작님의 선물입니다."
"아주 좋구나!" 왕이 말했어요.
The king handed a gold coin to Puss.
"Please give this to the duke."
"Thank you," Puss said.
"But the duke has everything he needs."
왕은 푸스에게 금화 한 닢을 건넸어요.
"부디 공작에게 이것을 주게나."
"감사합니다." 푸스가 말했어요.
"하지만 공작님은 필요한 것은 다 있습니다."
The king smiled warmly.
"Then he can buy something he doesn't need.
You must take it!"
왕은 따뜻하게 미소를 지었어요.
"그렇다면 뭔가 필요하지 않은 것을 사면 되지.
꼭 가져가도록 하거라!"
