  • "Please! Can't I miss school just this once?" I pleaded. I didn't want to meet Olivia, Emma, and Dain today, after the episode with the seats. "No, you'll go to school as usual. No excuses." Mother looked at me with firm eys. I know that when mother looked at me like that, I couldn't argue with her. The only thing that I could do now is pray to god for not meeting Olivia and the others.

I arrived at school early. I quickly put down my bag and put my head into the book right away. I heard laughter, cheers, and chats as I pretended to read. As I looked at the black words, my eyes watered. I quickly brushed off my tears. If things were normal, I should be in all that laughter and chats. If things didn't get this bad... Just then, The teacher announced the first class to start.

The first class was physical education. "Hey, Amy!" A voice called from behind me as the kids walked down to the gym. I turned around to see Olivia waving at me frantickly. I was stunned. What was Olivia thinking? She had ended the friendship yesterday, so she is not my friend anymore(as Olivia said). Anyway, I walked over to her. "Why?" I asked. Olivia smiled. "Let's sit togather while we wait for the teacher to tell us what we are doing today."

There was an awkward silence between me and Olivia as we sat down on the cold gym floor. Our school was very old, so some parts of the school were very hard to get along with. Like the gym's cold floor. The gym had no heaters, so in summer, the gym was too hot and when it's winter, the gym was freezing.

Mrs. V clapped her hands for attention. "Children! We're doing dodge ball today. I think most of you know it, but for the kid who..." "We all know dodge ball, right?" A tall boy said. All the kids nodded. "All right then, lets play dodge ball!!!" Mrs. V stopped the tall boy from running to the ball. "Andrew, what did I say about not behaving properly?" The tall boy(who's name is Andrew) shrugged. "Calling my mom? That's okay." Mrs. V shook her head. "No, I said if you don't behave well, you're grounded when we play dodge ball." Andrew shrugged again. "Your not my mother, so you can't stop me from doing what I want." Mrs. V gave Andrew a stern look. "If you act like that, you aren't able to play." "Blah blah blah. What did you say?" Mrs. V looked furious. "Andrew, as I warned..." Andrew ignored Mrs. V and graved the ball. Before anyone could stop him, he threw the ball, at me.

The ball hit me with a crash. I grabbed my stomach. It didn't hurt that much because the dodge ball's ball was very soft, but it still hurt. Mrs. V grabbed Andrew by the arm before he could throw another ball. "Andrew, what did I say about not behaving your self?" Andrew said sorry, but I knew that Andrew didn't meant it. Mrs. V seemed to know too. "Your going to meet the principal and have a serious talk." Andrew just shrugged and headed for the principal's office. Mrs. V clapped her hands again. "Now, lets do some warm ups and start playing dodge ball."

Andrew was a boy with a mischievous grin. He always acted by him self and never listened to others. Once, he smashed the school clock for no reason. He was a trouble maker from 1th grade. I could never forget when Andrew threw my art sculpture out the window. There was a huge "Crash!" and an "Ahhh!!!" When I looked out, most of the people had ran out to see what happened. They were shocked to find a girl peeking out the window, seeing at her broken sculpture. The teacher came in, but she lectured me! Not Andrew. I was so victimized. After school, I ran home and wrote Andrew on my pillow. I punched the pillow until I felt better.

While I was wishing that Andrew was lectured very badly(I know this thought is malicious, but I couldn't help it after the trouble I went with Andrew), Mrs. V blew her whistle. She usually uses it when we are going to start dodge ball. We parted. My class had 16 girls and 14 boys, so my team had 8 girls(plus me) and 7 boys. The other team had the same. Then, I noticed that Emma and Olivia were both on the other team. "Uh-oh..." I thought. Emma was a dodge ball champion from 1th grade. She had won every game(except when we bet against class 4, when we were in 2nd grade, and when we fought against class 6 in 3rd grade) I didn't know about Olivia's skills because I had never battled against her. But, I didn't have to worry because now, I'll figure it out, by the hard way.

At the whistle that signaled the start of the game, all the kids pounced on the ball. They fought to keep their ball as they ran away from each other. Olivia managed to get the ball first. She looked quickly around to find who she'll threw the ball to. Now, every kid was backing away from her. Olivia's sharp eyes scanned the gym. She was as if to find someone. When I was going to run to the corner of the gym, Olivia spotted me. She locked eyes and threw the ball, hard, at me.
