The ball sailed at me. I thought of the worst injuries that I might get. Maybe my arm broken? I had even heard about a boy who became vegetable after he was hit by a dodge ball's ball right on his head, hard. I closed my eyes and stood there for the worst. Nothing happened. There was no pain, no injury, or any physical pains. I slowly opened my eyes. Dain was in front of me. His arms were stretched forward, catching the ball by the inch of his chest.
Olivia was standing there stunned. Mrs. V hurried back. "What happened?" "Olivia threw a shot at Amy and Dain caught the shot." Mrs. V clapped her hands. "All right kids! Back to the classroom. Our next class is going to start anyway." Olivia shrugged as a bunch of girls trailed behind her. I stood awkwardly with Dain. "Um... Are you okay?" I spoke up. "Yeah. Are you okay? By the way, did anything bad happened between you and Olivia?" I shook my head. "Its nothing." Dain shrugged. "All right then, let's go up."
The next class went on as usual. With some out bursts from Andrew, and some fights between me and Olivia. In science class, Olivia tripped me when I was bringing my group's result of the experiment. Olivia got into huge trouble for that. In math class, Olivia spilled milk on my math homework. In moral class, we had to write something good to everyone. Olivia wrote to me saying, "You are a fantastically awful friend anyone could have!" The moral class teacher saw it and showed it to everyone else. Also, she put Olivia up to her desk and made her hang a poster that said, "A Fantastically Awful Friend." all day long. Some boys laughed and called Olivia AFAF, but I didn't felt sorry for her, after what she had done to me.
In English class, Olivia announced a poem. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. What else can I say." I felt a little bad for upsetting Olivia. But I still didn't want to forgive Olivia for acting rude to me. And, why did Olivia change her mind so abruptly? For about 10 minute ago, she was being rude and made fun of me, but now, apologizing? Just then, the English teacher asked Olivia. "Who are you apologizing to?" "Emma, who had an awful friend who insulted her where she couldn't here. But I accidentally heard that insult and felt very bad. So I told Emma, and she became angry at me and that kid who insulted her. I thought that she was angry because that girl was very close to Emma, but..well, she now knew that that girl wasn't really her true friend anymore." The teacher looked shocked. "Who is that girl? It is not right for friends to insult each other!" Olivia paused. "Um...I promised that I will keep this a secret, but if you insists..." Olivia turned to me and made an evil smile. She leaned over and whisphered into the English teacher's ears, but everyone could hear it. "That girl is Amy Dakota Jones!"
After school, I walked home alone. Usually, Emma would walk with me, but we still didn't apologize to each other. And not single girl asked me to go home together after what Olivia had said about me. I sighed. Why was Olivia getting in my life? Emma didn't bother me-but I wish she would-in my life after Emma ended our friendships. But I know that Emma still had me as a friend because she still had our friendship bracelet what I made her. Mean while Olivia was bothering me everywhere I go-In the school libray, in the cafeteria, in the gym, in the classroom, and even in the girl's bathrooms. Whenever Olivia followed me to the girl's bathroom, I really wished that I was a boy. Olivia would knock my bathroom door and ask, "Is there anybody in there?" I had to reply because otherwise, Olivia would opened the door. (Saddly our school doesn't have locks in the bathrooms...T.T) Once, I asked her if she was a stalker. Then, she would pretend I was insane and pretend to be scared. Some boys would come and ask me why I threaten Olivia! Aw, Man. I finally even wished that I had just listened to Emma and just ignore Olivia in the first place... Just as I was pleading things would go back to normal, Olivia ran toward me. I didn't look back as I ran into the house.
Mother looked up from writting her household ledger. "Don't close the door to hard! The door might break!" I just ignored her. As I was going to ran into my room, mother handed me two envelopes. "I think these are for you." I ran into my room and opened the envelope. The first was from Emma. It said in purple letters, "To Amy. I don't know how I can start this letter, so I'll just tell you the important thing. Amy, you are not my best friend anymore. My new best friend is Grace. I don't and will never have a best friend who insults their best friend. Here's your bracelet. Bye." As soon as I read the letter, my hands froze. I texted Emma right away. "You can't do this to me!" "Emma!" "How can you-" "Don't talk to me." "I hate you." "You are the most awful friend anyone could get." "And we are not best friends anymore. So change your name to something else." "Just not 'My best friend is Emma-short to ME'. I always thought that it was a foolish name." The last text was enough. Even though more text messages came, I didn't look at them. I put my head on the bed and cried, for my best friend Emma, who is not in this world anymore...
