안녕하세요.
리틀팍스를 알게된 지 4~년 정도가 흘렀내요.
일단 리팍을 시작한 동기는 아는 과외선생님의 추천이었구요.
처음에는 별로 관심도 없었고, 어렸고, 그리고 워낙 '듣기' 부분에 중점을 두지 않았었던 터라 크게 이용하지는 않았습니다.
물론 초등학생 때라 듣기의 중요함을 미처 몰라 놓친거겠죠.
그렇게 시간을 허비하다가 초6 여름, 어떤 학원의 시험에서 Reading 에 비해 Listening 이 현저히 낮다는 것을 깨달았고, 슬렁슬렁
하고 있었던 리틀팍스에 더욱 박차를 가하게 되었습니다.
물론, 처음부터 잘하는 사람은 없으므로 저는 고학년임에도 불구하고 낮은 단계부터 차근차근 시작했습니다. 다행히, 예전에 영어공부
는 계속 해 오고 있었기 때문에 voca 라든지 문법 등에서는 어느정도 내공이 있었고 쉽게 단계를 올릴 수 있었습니다.
그렇다고 정말 쉽게 공부한 것은 아닙니다. 밥 먹을 때나, 잠자기 전, 하루에 리틀팍스를 집중적으로 듣거나 흘려 듣기한 시간은 많았다고 자부할 수 있습니다.
특히, 엄마께서 열정적으로 영어를 저희들에게 노출시키셨기 때문에 저희의 영어듣기전용 아이디는 Top 10 안에 든 적도 빈번했습니다. 요즘은 동생이 글쓰기를 시작하는 것을 보고, 저도 관심이 생겨서 소설이나 독후감, 일기 등을 즐겁게 써 나가고 있답니다.
가끔, 글쓰기에 시간을 너무 투자할때도 있어, 엄마와의 다툼이 없진 않았지만 그래도 이렇게 제가 글을 나름 자유롭게 쓸 수 있었
던 것은 리틀팍스의 어휘나 문장들을 저의 것으로 만들었기 때문이라고 생각합니다.
중2 초부터는 저랑 저의 동생, 아빠와 저녁마다 'dictation 대회' 라는 시간도 갖게 되었고 나름 경쟁심도 생겨 이 시간은 더욱 더 저에
게 듣기를 열심히 할 수 있는 동기를 마련해 주었습니다.
저의 동생은 저보다 어린 나이(예비 중1)에 리틀팍스를 하게 되어서 지금은 저와 실력이 비슷합니다. 또한 회사의 해외영업팀에서 일
하시는 아빠는 항상 영어에 열정을 가지고 계셔 회사에서도 점심시간이면 리틀팍스를 방문하신다고 합니다. 또한, 핸드폰에 리틀팍스
동화들을 담아 출퇴근 길에 들으신다고 하네요.
저희 가족이 재작년에 유럽 배낭여행을 갔을 때, 아빠가 자유자재로 의사소통을 하는 것을 보고 자랑스럽기도 하고 부러웠는데 저도
이제는 어느 정도 자신감도 생기게 되었답니다.
매일, 리틀팍스의 8~9 단계 동화들을 골라 듣고, 읽고, 퀴즈를 푸는 것도 도움이 되고 있습니다. Apolo 11, Democracy, King Lear,
Hamlet 등의 8~9 단계 동화들과 여러 장르의 글들은 저의 배경지식에도 많은 영향을 끼치고 있답니다.
리틀팍스를 통해서 여러 장르의 수 많은 글들을 듣고, 읽고 하는 것이 저의 일상생활 중에 소중한 시간이 되었습니다. 물론 이제 중3이 되어서 앞으로 내신이나 좋은 고등학교를 목표하여 다른 공부도 하고 있기 때문에 리틀팍스를 그 전 만큼 많이 할 수는 없겠지만 리틀팍스의 중요도는 항상 변함이 없다고 생각합니다.
또한, 리틀팍스는 자기주도적 학습이기 때문에 지금까지 한 노력들이 고등학교에 진학하고서도 분명히 저에게 보이지 않는 힘이 될 것이라는 생각이 드네요.
제 활용수기는 여기서 마치고 리틀팍스를 공부하는 저의 방법들을 소개해 드리겠습니다.
1. 흘려듣기. 밥 먹을 때, 잠자기 직전, 자투리시간에 Mp3 에 다운받아서 듣기.
2. 관심 있는 동화를 매일 1개 씩 선정하여 집중적으로 활용하기. Movie 로 반복해서 듣고, Page by Page 로 읽고, 모르는 어휘들은
찾아 단어장에 저장하여 외우고 점검을 위하여 Quiz 풀기.
3. Dictation. 자신의 능력과 비슷한 동화들이나 조금 높은 단계의 동화를 정해서 가족들과 함께 상품을 걸고 Dictation 을 하면 경쟁심이 생겨 더 열심히 할 수 있습니다.
4. Dictation 후 그냥 넘어가지 말기. Dictation 후, 틀린부분을 correction 하는 과정은 매.우 중요합니다. 한번 틀린 것을 다시 틀리지
않게 하는 것이 중요. dictation 후 고치고, 확인하고 전체적으로 다시 듣고, 읽는 것이 중요. voca 확인도 필수.
5. 글쓰기. 외운 단어들을 활용하여 일기, 독후감 등을 영어로 써보는 것도 중요합니다.
6. 문장 만들기. 외운 단어를 문장으로 만들어서 외우면 기억이 더 오래 간답니다.
영어를 늦게 시작하셨더라도 포기하지 마시고 더 일찍 시작했던 사람들보다 끈기를 가지고 노력하신다면 원하시는 성과를 이루실 수 있을거라 생각합니다. 부족한 글, 끝까지 읽어주셔서 감사합니다.

It's been 4~5 years that I've known about the Little Fox.
The motive that I began to use Little Fox was on the recommendation of the private tutor, I knew well.
At first, I wasn't interested with it, I was young and I didn't use it a lot cause I didn't place emphasis on 'Listening'.
Of course, I missed the importance of Listening that I was an elementary school student at that time.
While I was wasting of time, I realized that my Listening ability was lower Reading ability noticeably. So, I spurred to LittleFox
that I used idly.
Of course, there is no person can't do well from the beginning, so I took the necessary steps along the way even though I
was an upper grade. Fortunately, I'd been studying English, also I had certain skills with vocabulary and grammer, so I could
advance stages easily.
But, that doesn't mean I studied easily. When I have meals, before I go to the bed, I am confident that there has been quite a
long time with concentration on it and just listening.
Especially, exposing us to English in mother's passion, there were several times that our exclusive listening ID ranked on 10.
Nowadays, watching my brother's writing on the board, I began to be interested. So, I've writing novels, book reports and
diarys delightfully.
Sometimes, there were some arguements between Mom and I for the investment too much time on writing. On the other
hand, it's virtue of Littlefox for my high writing level, tcause I acquired vocabularys or sentences on the Littlefox.
From second grades, I've having Dictation competition on the dinner with my brother and dad. We begant to raise competitve
sprit so it provieded us motive to listen hard and diligently.
My brother began to use littlefox at an tender age(preliminary 1 grade), so his skill is similar with mine. Also, my dad,
working on the international devision, always has enthusiasim and he visits Littlefox site during his lunch time. And he says
he downloaded storys to listen while he commutes.
When we took a trip to Europe, Watching father's quite freely communication, I was proud of him and little envy him. And
now, I have certain confidece with speaking english.
Everday, choosing storys at 8 or 9 stages, listening, reading and solving quiz is assisted. Also reading many kinds of storys
like Apolo 11, Democracy, King Lear and Hamlet, ect has been having a good influence on my background Knowledge.
Through Littlefox, listening and reading many sorts of storys is became precious time. Of course, being third grade on middle
school, I am not able to use littlefox as I used to, because I will aim high in my exams and fine high-school. But I am certain
that the importance of Littlefox would constant for myself.
Also, Littlefox is for self-studying, so it would be unvisible power for myself when I enter the high school.
I finish my writing and I'll introduce my own way to study.
1. Just listening, Downloading and Listening while you have a meal, before you go to bed and remained time.
2. Choose the story that you are interested in. Repeat the story with 'Movie' and read on 'Page by Page'. If you have the
words that you don't know, save in word list and memorize it. Finally, solve the quiz for checkup.
3. Dictation. Choose the story similar with your ability or higher, and dictate, putting prize with your family. If you do, you will
have more competitve sprit and do hard.
4. After Dictation, don't skip correction. It is very important not to mistake again. After dictation, you should correct, assure,
listen again, and read. Checking vocabulary is required.
5. Writing. You should write diarys, bookreports in English making full use of the words that you memoried.
6. Making sentences. It would keep a long memory if you memory the words making sentances.
I think even if you began to study English, don't give up. If you make a greater effort than earier starter, I am certain that you
will get pleased result. Thank you for reading short writing.
